I salute those who dared the heat and the exhilarating (to change to mood) traffic to visit the churches and engage themselves in sanctified retreats.
I did otherwise. I went back to my workout routine, finished the backlogs, watched a Brenda Hampton marathon (not 7th Heaven), and stayed at home. I did not travel. Traveling to reflect nowadays became a drag thanks to our intense traffic situation. Add social media feeds that halted the delight to see churches. To my peers and their vehicular armageddon photos, thank you. In hindsight, I feel delighted with my personal travel inside our home-- from room to room to room (and that written as if we have a big home). I saw a lot of things to purge and a lot of books to read. I saw memories in old clutches, necklaces, bangles, earrings, and notebooks. I saw memories in old app threads that I hope I could keep but couldn't, of old broken pieces that I must give up or else be told to be hoarding again and again. I do hope I had a good travel to see churches this season, but I guess I can do that some other day when less people visit the church, when adoration is more intimate, and when silence is a luxury I couldn't have during this time of the year. Lit the candle. Blew it away. Good Night! |
