If I get a lot of complaints about the weather (and the people and the language and practically everything haha) back home, I am actually having the same rants right now. The only difference I guess is how people approach the weather quite differently here. In a city that is relatively windy and grey, they adapt by maximizing what is left of the warmth by going to the beach, walking with their dogs, eating by the esplanade, and drinking a warm cuppa. I love Portobello.
If there’s anything I’d love about this country, I’d put this weekends “me” time as one of my favorite learnings. I’d probably miss this part of my life now when I go home in a few years, the stillness of my weekends without thinking about work and anything related to it. Sometimes I try to think of ways to change our current millenial lifestyle that is detrimental to wellness, but thinking about it now will be quite difficult since we have the luxury of 24/7 food joints and coffee shops that you can stay at to extend work and anything related to more work. Today, i walked again at one of my favorite places (I have loads). Portobello beach is becoming one of my most favorite weekend stroll. I wish I can go there just to read a book again, or just to think. Or perhaps, I don’t know. Just to discover other possible ideas for the dream and more dreams to come. and dolls. Yes, I saw dolls too. |
